Publix now supports contactless payment method - Apple Pay

Publix has officially enabled their terminals to support contactless payment. This will enable credit cards, smart phones and smart watches to pay without having to insert your card. With our testings, no PIN codes are required. This is a similar behavior at Target.

This is extremely useful in skipping an extra step by touching the terminal device due to do COVID-19. No fingertips are required, simply hold your smartphone close to the reader and it will automatically accept your payment. 


How to use it on an iPhone: 

  • To use your default card, rest your finger on Touch ID. 
  • Hold the top of your iPhone within a few centimeters of the contactless reader until you see Done and a checkmark on the display.
